Event Report: 2nd June, London, 2008

Where there's muck there might be brass...

A Monday night is not always the best night of the week for excitement in entrepreneurial circles; but not on 2nd June. Once again, there was a packed house at the Angels Den hosted Speedfunding Event, in London. Entrepreneurs and investors came from around the UK to experience first hand one of the most exciting monthly funding events currently occuring in the capital. Fuelled by some excellent press over the past month the event was another sell out.

Fi Ryder, Speedfunding's co-founder, undertook the entrepreneurs' briefing before the Speedfunding started in earnest. The entrepreneurs pitched for just over an hour to the investors, in the hope of securing the funding they need to turn dreams into reality, or in the case of one entrepreneur, a new prototype compost bin, into money.

The ideas were as varied as the entrepreneurs pitching and ranged from tiny start ups seeking microfunding through to established businesses needing significant equity to expand. The investors loved it as usual for its efficiency and high levels of energy.

If you want to experience an official Speedfunding event first hand then you need to book quickly for the next event on 7th July. This will be the last Speedfunding event before the summer break. Contact wings@angelsden.co.uk for more info and terms and conditions.
